Enter a keyword, a country and your email address. Once you confirm your address, we read the live Google results page and show you who is paying for an ad there, with the text of each ad and the page it sends people to.
For one keyword and one country, the tool reads the Google results page once, on desktop, and lists the ads at the top and bottom of the page (advertiser site, headline, description, landing page when Google provides it), then the first 5 organic results. The report shows on the page and is also sent by email.
The tool needs JavaScript to run.
One keyword per request, written the way your customers type it: “crm software”, “medicare supplement plans” or “plumber houston”. Pick the country where your ads run.
We send a confirmation link there. No account needed. The box to get our Google Ads tips is optional and stays unchecked unless you tick it.
The link opens this page and starts reading Google, which usually takes less than a minute. Nothing is searched before that click. The link works for 7 days and shows the same report again.
Ads at the top, then at the bottom of the page, with each advertiser’s site, ad copy and landing page, then the first 5 organic results. A copy of the report lands in your inbox.
Google puts ads above the organic results and sometimes below them. The report covers both spots in page order. For each ad, you see the advertiser’s domain, the headline, the description and the landing page when Google provides it.
It adds the first 5 organic results, which show what Google considers useful for that search: product pages, comparison sites or articles. When the ads push quote requests while the organic results are how-to guides, the search probably draws as many browsers as buyers.
Ads change from one search to the next. Google weighs location, time of day, device, each advertiser’s remaining budget and the bids at that moment. The report shows what the page displayed when we read it, for the country you picked, on desktop.
A competitor missing from the report may still buy that keyword at other times of day, or may have spent its daily budget already. To follow a market over time, you have to check the same searches again and again. The Should I Bid Competitors module keeps the ads seen at each analysis of your keywords, with their dates.
It does not list the other keywords a competitor buys, their budget or their past ads. Paid competitor research tools rely on their own data: our Google Ads competitor analysis tools comparison reviews them, and our guide to finding who is bidding on your keywords compares the free methods. Google’s Ads Transparency Center shows the ads of an advertiser you already know: it starts from the advertiser, not from the search.
It does not tell you whether to bid either. A competitor paying for a keyword does not prove that the keyword brings them customers. To find out, Should I Bid’s intent analysis reads the results page for each keyword, checks it against your offer and returns a verdict: Bid, Test or Skip. For a competitor’s brand, our guide to bidding on competitor keywords walks through the decision.
Every report takes a real read of the Google results page, which costs us money. To keep the tool free, requests are limited: one keyword per request, one report per email address every 24 hours, and a daily cap on reports across all visitors.
The email confirmation stops people from using someone else’s address. Your address is used to send the link and the report. You only get our tips if you tick the box for them, and you can stop them whenever you like. The details are in our privacy policy.
A competitor can pay for clicks that never turn into sales. Should I Bid reads the Google results page for each keyword, checks it against your offer and tells you: Bid, Test or Skip. 5 free analyses, no credit card.
Enter the keyword in this checker: it reads the Google results page for the country you pick and lists the advertisers showing at that moment. To follow several keywords and see them again with every analysis, the Should I Bid Competitors module records the advertisers seen on your analyzed keywords.
Nothing is searched until you click the link. This step stops people from using someone else’s address and limits abuse, which keeps the tool free. The report then shows on the page and a copy is sent to you.
No. It shows who has an ad on the keyword you enter, at the time of the check. It does not give a competitor’s other keywords, their budget or the history of their ads.
Some searches show no ads, or not at every hour: budgets already spent, bids too low, or a search Google does not see as commercial enough. A page with no ads does not mean nobody ever buys that keyword.
One keyword per request and one report per email address every 24 hours. The total number of reports per day is capped too. The link you get works for 7 days: opening it again shows the same report, with no new search.
It is used to send the confirmation link and the report, and it is kept for 13 months with your request. You only get our Google Ads tips if you ticked the box for them. The service that reads the Google page receives the keyword and the country, never your address.
